Argentina tax changes 2026 include new requirements from ARCA for electronic invoicing. The agency has published version 4.8 of the WSFEv1 Developer Manual, introducing changes related to the Recipient’s VAT Status (CondicionIVAReceptorId) field.
This update is particularly relevant for companies using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Argentina, as they will need to verify that their electronic invoicing processes are prepared to correctly submit this information.
How Do Argentina Tax Changes 2026 Affect Business Central?
Until now, the CondicionIVAReceptorId field could be submitted optionally. With the new version of the manual, ARCA is moving toward making this field mandatory, meaning that every invoice must include a valid value.
The accepted values must be obtained through the following method:
FEParamGetCondicionIvaReceptor
This catalog identifies the VAT status options available and currently valid for invoice recipients.
The change is part of a process that began with version 4.0 of the manual, published on March 17, 2025. Since April 6, 2025, the field could be reported optionally as part of a transition period.
With version 4.8, ARCA is closing this transition stage and preparing the framework for the mandatory requirement scheduled for December 2026.
Which WSFEv1 Methods Are Affected?
The new requirement primarily affects processes related to the authorization and reporting of electronic invoices.
The methods involved are:
- FECAESolicitar: used to request authorization for invoices through CAE. The field is located in the <FECAEDetRequest>/<CondicionIVAReceptorId> node.
- FECAEARegInformativo: used to report invoices issued through CAEA. In this case, the field is located in the <FECAEADetRequest>/<CondicionIVAReceptorId> node.
For this reason, companies should review both their CAE issuance processes and those related to CAEA.
What Happens to Validation Codes 10245 and 825?
During the period when the field was optional, ARCA used specific codes to indicate that CondicionIVAReceptorId had not been submitted.
These messages were treated as observations, meaning they did not prevent the invoice from being authorized or reported.
With version 4.8, codes 10245 for CAE and 825 for CAEA are being discontinued.
| Code | Modality | Previous Version | Version 4.8 |
| 10245 | CAE – FECAESolicitar | Non-blocking observation | Discontinued |
| 825 | CAEA – FECAEARegInformativo | Non-blocking observation | Discontinued |
These codes represented a warning during the transition period. Once the recipient’s VAT status becomes mandatory, these warnings will no longer be applicable.
On the other hand, the manual maintains the blocking validations 10246 for CAE and 826 for CAEA, related to the mandatory nature of the field under General Resolution No. 5616.
Unlike an observation, a blocking validation can result in the rejection of the invoice.
What Happens If the VAT Status Is Invalid?
Submitting the field alone is not enough. The value provided must also correspond to a valid code from the catalog provided by ARCA.
According to the validations described in the manual:
- If the reported value is invalid, different outcomes may occur depending on the invoice modality.
- If the code does not exist in the corresponding catalog, the invoice may be rejected.
- Systems must consult and use the current values provided through FEParamGetCondicionIvaReceptor.
This makes it necessary to review the tax information stored for each customer and ensure that their VAT status is correctly configured.
What Should Companies Using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Review?
Argentina tax changes 2026 require companies using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to review their electronic invoicing processes before the new requirements take effect.
The main areas to review include:
- Verify that CondicionIVAReceptorId is included in invoices.
- Validate that the recipient’s information contains the correct VAT status.
- Ensure that the codes being used correspond to ARCA’s current catalog.
- Review processes related to CAE and CAEA.
- Identify rules or custom developments that depend on codes 10245 and 825.
- Perform testing before December 1, 2026.
An updated Argentina Business Central localization should incorporate the necessary regulatory changes so companies can continue operating correctly and reduce the risk of rejected electronic invoices.
Why Is It Important to Prepare Before December 2026?
Although ARCA has established December 1, 2026 as the effective date, waiting until that date to make the necessary adjustments may create unnecessary risks.
Finance, tax, and technology teams should review customer information and electronic invoicing processes in advance to identify potential inconsistencies.
Companies with custom developments or integrations with WSFEv1 should also verify that these processes are compatible with the new validations.
Updating an Argentina Business Central localization should not be limited to simply adding a new mandatory field. It is also important to review how tax information is captured, stored, and transmitted from the system.
