The National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) continues to update GRE validations in Peru. These changes introduce new error codes and modify existing rules for the Electronic Remittance Guide (GRE), making it important for companies to review their issuance processes and tax configurations.
For companies using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, staying up to date with these changes is essential to reduce rejections, avoid reprocessing, and ensure compliance with SUNAT requirements.
What Changes Are Included in the GRE Validations?
The update introduces new error codes and modifies existing rules for specific GRE Remitente (Sender GRE) issuance scenarios.
New Error Codes
Error 3633 – Total Gross Weight of Selected Items
This validation controls whether the gross weight of selected items is submitted under certain scenarios involving reason code 08, customs documents, and situations where there are no goods to be transported.
Error 3634 – Support for the Difference in Weight
A new validation has been added for the information supporting the difference between the total gross weight of the shipment and the weight of the selected items, under certain conditions involving customs documents.
Error 3635 – Related Document Type Code
When document type 50 – Customs Declaration of Goods (DAM) is used, the validation ensures that it is not combined with other document types.
New Observation 4320
A new validation has also been introduced for the unit of measure of the goods.
When the transportation reason corresponds to code 13 and there is a related document with code 50, the reported value must comply with the requirements established in Catalog 65.
Changes to Existing Validation Rules
In addition to the new codes, SUNAT has modified certain validation conditions.
Error 2880 – Total Gross Weight of the Shipment
The rule establishes when the total gross weight of the shipment is mandatory and includes exceptions related to specific document types, transportation reasons, and situations where there are no goods to be transported.
Error 3441 – Related Document Number
The validation applicable when the transportation reason is 13 – Other has been modified when there is a related document with code 50.
Error 3632 – Number of Packages or Pallets
The validation rule associated with the number of packages or pallets has been modified, removing transportation reason 08 from certain conditions.
Observation 4320 – Unit of Measure of the Goods
The rule now includes document type 50 – Customs Declaration of Goods (DAM) within the applicable validation.
These modifications make the correct configuration of the data submitted from the business management system even more important to prevent inconsistencies during validation.
GRE validations are essential to ensure that the information submitted to SUNAT meets the established requirements and to help prevent rejections during electronic issuance processes.
When Did These Changes Take Effect?
According to the update, these changes were incorporated on October 1, 2026.
Companies generating GREs through business solutions should therefore review their processes and configurations to ensure that the information submitted complies with the new requirements.
SUNAT defines the GRE as the electronic document that supports the transportation or movement of goods. The authority also recognizes different types, including the GRE Remitente, GRE Transportista, and GRE por Eventos. SUNAT – Electronic Remittance Guide

What Does This Mean for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?
For companies using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Peru, SUNAT updates may require adjustments to how certain remittance guide data is collected, validated, and transmitted.
An up-to-date tax localization should account for these changes so that processes related to:
- Electronic Remittance Guide issuance
- Weight and unit-of-measure information
- Customs documents
- Goods transportation data
- SUNAT validations and responses
continue to operate according to applicable requirements.
GRE validations should not be viewed solely as a technical requirement. They are also part of a compliance strategy that should be integrated into the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
For implementation teams, anticipating these changes can help reduce issuance errors and avoid manual correction processes.
How Can You Prepare for SUNAT Changes?
Whenever SUNAT updates its validation rules, we recommend reviewing three key areas:
1. Review Your Current Configuration
Verify that the fields used to generate GREs are correctly configured and that the required information can be obtained from Business Central.
2. Validate Customs Scenarios
Changes involving documents such as the DAM and Simplified Declaration require special attention, particularly when specific conditions apply to weight, related documents, and goods being transported.
3. Keep Your Localization Up to Date
A localization solution should evolve alongside the country’s tax requirements. This allows companies to adopt regulatory changes without relying on manual processes or isolated custom developments.
